The best homemade chicken dumpling soup and perfect to have during cold weather. Food has already been hot, flavorful, and portion sizes are great. This is one of my favorite places to eat.

Excellent Bat Soup, made with choice Mississippi River Night Whoopers. The Salamander Salad was tasty especially with the House dressing. The Early Bird Special this week was amazing. Whoever though of putting diced frogs legs in a Lard Omelette should be given Employee of the Month. Bravo. Keep up the good work.

I will be honest.....I have extremely fond nostalgic memories of this place when it was Country Kitchen many years ago. The inside looks remarkably similar to the the former Country Kitchen, and I was pleased to see that many pie varieties are still available. They have tons of breakfast options available all day long. The menu is quite extensive.....so we took cues from the dishes being served to nearby diners. The 1/2 pound burgers looked and smelled delicious, so that's what we both ordered. The burgers came with one side of your choice (fries, fruit, soup, etc.) so we went with Chicken Dumpling Soup. It was very good. Soups vary daily. Our burgers were EXCELLENT. The charbroil taste and meat quality are outstanding. When I mentioned to the cashier (owner, perhaps) how happy we were with our burgers, he said they use a special charbroiler that when the fat drips onto flavor bars it in a sense "smokes" the meat. Wow. We were pleasantly surprised with our dining experience at Viroqua Family Restaurant!
